Consultation on the draft Northern Territory Alcohol Action Plan 2023-2025 (the draft Action Plan) is underway and will be open until late March 2023.

The draft Action Plan has been developed to build on the Territory’s previous Action Plan, and is guided by the National Alcohol Strategy 2019-2028.

The document outlines key actions to reduce alcohol-related harm for Territorians, whilst recognising that the provision and consumption of alcohol are legitimate activities but with a particular focus on:

• Empowering communities to determine alcohol strategies
• Initiatives to reduce demand
• Measure and reduce alcohol-related harm.

The plan will be founded on partnering with communities to manage alcohol and prevent and minimise alcohol-related harms among individuals, families and communities.
